Home Stretch

Juliet and I have known for some time now that we'll be moving to Emporia, at least for the next couple years. Since this decision/discovery (it was really a bit of both), there has commenced a season of slightly uncomfortable waiting. The days and weeks seemed to lengthen, the working hours became more drawn out and more of a hassle, and everything appeared to be going by in slow motion.

Then the call.

Our landlady's brother moved in with her family for some reason or other. She said she'd like us moved out before the end of May, if possible, so that her brother can have a place to stay that isn't where she and her husband (and their six kids) are living. We said we'd do what we could, and so it came to pass that our moving date got bumped a week early.

The days are still dragging a bit, but there are less than 10 days actual (Galactica actual--for those who can't get the association out of their head) before we move. Still have eight days of work (eight days a week--for those who can't get that correlation out of their heads), including this'n. But just one more weekend left, then not even a full week of work. Then BOOM, gone.

And yes, Timothy, the ancillary work definitely is the kicker. Currently, it's all the excessive amounts of cleaning, packing, sorting, and so forth that's yet to be done. But in a strange way, I'm looking forward to that part, if only because I'll get to unpack, unsort, unclean, and un-so-forth in an entirely new environment. I'm interested to know what's ahead. A little impatient, but time is seemingly beginning to normalize--which means things are going by much faster than they have been.

To the future. To new experiences. To a readaptation of collegiate life. To good friends. To the neighbors!

Well then...

You'll notice, my previous post is no longer valid. I've removed AdSense because...well, essentially because they said I needed to sign a waiver that would allow Google to run spyware on my computer in order for AdSense to run better. So, there's that.

In other news, I've finished series D.T. (no, not the d.t.'s either). So, on to writing some things instead of just reading them. That was the deal. And the deal is but half-done.
